    Explanation:

    When the resource base is unlimited the population is said to take an exponential growth. This will results in a J shaped curve when the growth of resources is limited the population grows is decreased. Population numbers will increase and the maximum growth of the man will be attained which is known as the biotic potential. This type of growth rate can be seen in the population where the areas are newly colonized by man or in areas that are small. The growth can be calculated by the density-dependent factors. These factors include the predator numbers, the availability of food and the resources and the spread of pathogenic diseases.
