Prokaryotes are a single-celled organism that has a simpler organization. They do not have nucleus therefore they are called prokaryotes.

Apart from the nucleus they also do not have membrane-bound organelle. As nucleus is not present in prokaryotes their genetic material (DNA) is present in the cytoplasm.

Ribosomes are present in the cell to translate the mRNA. The cell membrane is surrounded by an outer layer called cell wall. The cell wall protects the cell from any damage and gives the cell its shape. Flagella can be present for locomotion.
