Cervix is the narrow portion of the uterus which connects the outer organ of the female reproductive organ called the vagina to the inner portion called uterus.

The important function of the cervix is that it allows the passage of the sperms to the uterus during intercourse and allow passage of the menstrual blood from the uterus to the vagina.

During intercourse, the sperm has o travel this 4 cm long structure where it faces the hell-like conditions as the acidic conditions of the cervix kills sperms, not all.

Thus, the cervix is known as the hell for the sperm.
