Explanation: The cell was first described by Robert Hooke (an English scientist) in 1665. He discovered the honey-comb structure of the cell during his observation on a thin slice of a cork of an oak tree. He discovered thin compartment within the cork. He his often regarded as the father of cell.

However, Felix Dujardin (a French scientist) in 1835, discovered that cell was made up of living components. Which he named protoplasm.
