In the following example, what is the independent variable? Hypothesis: Mice receiving Drug-A will pass through a maze faster than mice receiving a water placebo. Experiment: 200 mice from a genetically identical inbred line are divided into two groups. Half receive Drug A and the other half receive the placebo. The time it takes for each mouse to pass through the maze is determined. The mice are treated the same in all other respects.

    I believe the indepent variable would be the drug they are administered.

    All other variables stay the same except for this one.
