    as deoxygenated blood enters the vena cava, it flows through the right atrium and right ventricle and leaves by the pulmonary artery and goes to the lung so that the blood can be oxygenated. now the oxygenated blood enters the right atrium via the pulmonary vein and leaves by the aorta.
