    They can effect males and females.

    Explanation:

    Y-chromosome is present only in males. Y-chromosome contain only holandric genes i. e. they express themselves only in males. Mutation in Y-chromosome leads to Y-linked disorders. Since the Y - chromosome is present only in males, the disorder is also seen in males and not in females. The trait is transmitted to the son from their father. Example of Y-linked disorder are, hairy ears, webbed toes etc
