What kind of water is found in the benethic zone of a lake

The benthic zone is the ecological region at the lowest level of a body of water, such as an ocean or a lake, including the surface of the sediment and some subsoil layers. The organisms that live in this area are called bentos. In general, they live in close relationship with the lower part of the substrate, and many of these organisms are permanently subject to their lower part. The surface layer of the soil that covers the body of water, the benthic boundary layer, is an integral part of the benthic zone, since the biological activity that takes place there is greatly influenced. Examples of contact soil layers include sand bottoms, rocks, corals and mud in the bay.
