    Genotype is defined as genetic potential whereas phenotype is defined as traits an individual show.

    Explanation:

    Genotype is based on gene and in case of phenotype it deals with traits. An organisms phenotype is defined as physical expression of gene.

    Genotype can be determined by observing the DNA but in case of phenotype it can be determined by observing the characteristics.

    Genotype is completely dependent on the sequence of the gene but in case of phenotype it is dependent on the environmental factors.

    Genotype is inherited by the offsprings in case of phenotype it is not inherited by the offsprings.

    Genotype consist of suppressed and expressed gene. Phenotype consist of expressed gene.
