How the plasma membrane is important to survival, and necessary for life.

    The plasma membranebeing the most necessary component of a cell because it encases and protects the complex chemistry of life within the cell. A selectively permeable membrane allows only certain substances to enter the cell. This is very important to keep necessary nutrients in and keeping unwanted substances out too
