Channel proteins are proteins which allow movement of molecules inside the cell membrane. The channel proteins facilitate the movement of molecules by passive transport.

If channel proteins become damaged then the important molecules will not be able to pass through the cell membrane. As a result, the cell would not be able to perform its functions.

If many of the channel proteins will be damaged then the body will not be able to function properly.
