Cells divide by two processes which are termed as mitosis and meiosis. All the cells in the body divide by the process of mitosis except the sex cells. The sex cells divide by the process of meiosis.

Before cell division occurs, the cells enter the Interphase. During interphase, many new organelles such as the ribosomes are formed. This causes the cell to grow in size. As a result, the cell undergoes division.
