if you purchased a string of lights, how could you determine if the lights were wired in series or parallel?

    Let's say they were Christmas lights, on older types of Christmas lights if one bulb went out the whole string of lights would go out, those were parallel, now they are usually wired in series, so if one light went out the rest of them would still light up
