Consider a motor skill in which the sequence of muscle contractions is muscle A, muscle B, and muscle C. When this sequence is activated for a particular motor response, the resulting contractile forces produced in the muscles are A = 10, B = 20, and C = 40, in some units of force. According to the predictions of schema theory, if the same GMP is used to produce a different response in the same class of actions, but in which muscle A produces 25 units of force, then what would be the contractile forces produced in muscles B and C, respectively?

    B=40, C=100

    Explanation:

    If the predictions are correct and the same GMP ratio is used then the value of B will be increased by a factor of 2 x A value that is 40 and the value of C will be increased by a factor of 4 x A that is 100.

    In Schema theory it becomes very important to remember that the action of one will be according to the parallel ratio to others. So, we just have to increase or decrease the particular value by the corresponding factor.
