Answer: The heart and the blood vessels.

Explanation: The function of the circulatory system is to carry substances to and from the body parts to ensure exchange of substances within the body. The heart is a hollow muscular organ that pumps blood round the body through the circulatory system. The heart is located in the thorax where it is covered by a thin membrane known as the pericardium. The main blood vessels are the arteries, veins and capillaries. Arteries carry oxygenated blood with the exception of the pulmonary artery which carries deoxygenated blood. All arteries carry blood away from the heart while all veins carry blood towards the heart. All veins carry deoxygenated blood with the exception of the pulmonary vein. Capillaries connect the arteries and the veins. Capillaries are tiny vessels that connect to all the cells of the body. Arteries divide into smaller branches known as arterioles which further divide to form network of capillaries. Blood from the capillaries enters into smaller veins known as venules which join to form bigger veins.
