A butterfly young shed its skin a lot of time. Why does it needs to undergo the process of molting/moulting?

    Answer:

Moulting/moliting in arthropods is the shedding of exoskeleton (shell) to let the organism (e. g butterfly) grow. As caterpillars grow (butterfly larva) they shed their exoskeleton. This process is called molting or ecdysis and is triggered by hormones.
