    D. The height increases

    Explanation:

Beach is the place in which we can enjoy the waves. It is a surprising phenomenon which all loves to watch. As the waves arises in the sea, the wavelength of the waves keep on decreasing from the mid of the sea till the shore. Due to this, the crest of the wave which emerged from the center of the sea has high distance when compared to the wave which has neared the shore.

As the waves moves towards the shore from the mid of the sea, the height of the wave increase and it hits the shore and moves back.
