A red blood cell has a salt concentration of 150mM, and has been placed in a breaker containing 500mM salt. Assuming the membrane is permeable to water but not ions, what will happen to the cell in terms of osmosis

    Water would move out of the by osmosis from of high concentrations to an area of low concentration. Salt ions would undergo a net movement by diffusion from the surrounding solutions into the cell.
