    Explanation:

    Cellular respiration is the process of breaking down sugars (nutrients) and releasing energy. This can occur aerobically in the presence of oxygen and anearobically without the presence of oxygen. This happens in glycolysis pathway, where the resulting end product in the presence of oxygen is; energy in form of ATP, carbon dioxide and water. In the absence of oxygen the resulting by product of glycolysis is lactate without any energy release.
