Homology is the similarity in the structure or function of organs. The organs which show homology are homologous organs. These are the outcome of similar embryonic origin and development therefore, it is evidence for evolution. Wings in birds and bats are the example for homology. Both birds and bats belong to different classes (Aves and Mammals) of the vertebrates but their wings are dissimilar in structure but have same function i. e flying.
