In mitosis, the amount of starting and ending chromosomes are the same, this means mother, and daughter cells are genetically the same.

In this case, if you start with 12 chromosomes pair, you will end with 12 pairs too.

Meiosis is the kind of division in which the mother cell has doubled DNA than the daughter cell.
