If a rotavirus infection impairs the process of nutrient absorption, which causes an increased number of nutrient molecules to end up in the colon, the increase in solute in the colon will cause water to be drawn out of cells rather than absorbed into them. Answer: Osmotic diarrhea

    Explanation:

Intake of excessive salt or sugar solutions can pull water from the body into the bowel and cause osmotic diarrhoea. Excess of salt or sugar solutions inhibit absorption of normal water and electrolytes in the bowel lumen. Some laxatives like magnesia citrate or maldigestionand lactulose of certain food items, such as milk, are common causes of osmotic diarrhoea.

The conditions caused by a rotavirus infection has same impacts as of Osmotic diarrhea.

Hence, the correct answer is Osmotic diarrhea.
