    The steppe can be defined as a geographical area, which is characterised by the grasslands. These area do not have trees, they only have grasses and shrubs. The steppes are similar to the deserts and the arid region. They experience harsh summers and very cold winters.

    The steppes are mostly located in Mongolia, Siberia, china, United States of America and Tibet.

    In the South America region, the Cold steppes are found in the elevation region of the Andes and Patagonia.
