Since the introduction of the Endangered Species Act the number of species on the protected list has more than doubled. Describe how the human population's growth pattern contributes to the rise in endangered species.

    With the human population growing, we are clearing more forests to build more houses and more roads, which is taking away areas where animals live or hunt for food. With less area for the animals to hunt or live, their population gets smaller which puts more of them on the endagered species list.
