    Septic shock

    Explanation:

    Septic shock is a medical condition which results due to sepsis (infection leading to organ injury or damage). Septic shock is fatal for an organism as it leads to impaired cellular metabolism and dangerously low blood pressure. The primary cause of such septic infections is bacteria however other pathogens can also lead to a similar effect. Septic shock is associated with a mortality rate of 25 to 50%.
