What is a similarity and a difference between an exocrine gland and an endocrine gland?

    Both are essential to carry out specific body function and secrete bio chemical which are different from each other. Also these biochemicals are secreted into either body fluid or duct.

    Explanation:

    An endocrine gland is secretes hormones while an exocrine gland secretes enzymes. An endocrine glands secretes hormones into the blood through which it is passed into the entire body. While an exocrine glands secretes enzymes into the ducts in order to target large tissues.

    Example of exocrine glands - Sweat glands, salivary gland, pancreatic gland etc.

    Example of endocrine glands - Adrenal gland, pancreatic gland etc.

    A pancreatic gland act as both exocrine and endocrine gland.

    Both endocrine and exocrine gland secretes bio chemicals that are essential to perform the targeted function.
