    Energy is absorbed when the electron moves from the first level to the second energy level

    Explanation:

    According to the Bohr model of an atom, there are various energy levels present in an atom. These are also called shells. The closer energy level have the least energy and can only accommodate two electrons. As we move higher the energy of shells increases. In order to move higher shells an electron must gain energy. So when the electron moves from the first level to the second energy level, it must absorb energy.

    Answer;

    C. Energy is absorbed by the atom.

    Explanation; The electrons in an atom exist in various energy levels. When an electron moves from a lower energy level to a higher energy level, energy is absorbed by the atom. On the other hand, when an electron moves from a higher to a lower energy level, energy is released
