Formation of fossil fuels which release carbon dioxide into the air

    Explanation:

In the process of fossilization, the dead organic matter is decomposed by microorganisms such as bacteria etc. In the next stage, this decomposed dead organic matter get buried under the layer of earth. The new layers of sediments keep on depositing over the old layers beneath which decomposed dead organic matter lies. With the consequent action of temperature and pressure over the due course of time, the decomposed organic matter gets converted into fossil fuels such as crude coil, coal, natural gas etc. When these organic matter are burnt, carbon dioxide is released into the air and in this way the process of fossilization related to the carbon cycle
