The lacrimal glands are two glands, one for each eye, that produce the aqueous layer of the tear film. The lacrimal glands produce tears which then flow into canals that connect to the lacrimal sac. From this sac, the tears drain through the lacrimal duct into the nose. A symptom of an under-producing lacrimal gland would be dry eyes.
