I belive the answer is The best organism is always selected.

The process of evolution will need a long time to show a changes. It should not only a lifetime of the organism, but much longer. The long period cause the process hard to observe. The fossil will show that organism that getting a good trait will survive natural selection, while organism with bad trait will be eliminated.
