    may starve

    Explanation:

The eggs will remain inside the female's mouth until they hatch into fry ... After the mating, the female will have a mouthful of fertilized eggs ... This is important because she will not eat while holding the eggs in her mouth the sad thing is she may starve or she may die before she see's them hatch she does this to protect the eggs from the aggresive father
