A coral reef is an ecosystem where different abiotic (i. e., water, sunlight, temperature, salt, waves, etc.) and biotic (i. e., aquatic plants, shrimps, fish, corals, etc.) factors interact together to maintain the homeostasis of the system.

    Explanation:

A simulation model is a descriptive model that uses the existing data in order to make future inferences of one system (or process). A simulation model is also defined as a computer-based experiment where each component of the system contributes to the calculation of the impacts caused by the interaction of uncertain inputs.

By using a simulation model, it is possible to calculate how the differences in water temperature affect the interaction between different types of trophic levels in the coral reef ecosystem, which may be represented by aquatic plants and fish species.
