Chris, who works at a pesticide factory, comes to the clinic complaining of muscle spasms that interfere with his movement and breathing. A blood test shows that he has been contaminated with organophosphate pesticide, which is an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor. How would you explain to Chris what this means?

Acetylcholine is a chemical stimulator of muscle fibers and needs to be destroyed after it has performed its action. As it is not getting destroyed thus muscles are continuously being stimulated and as a result he is feeling spasm in muscles.
