Troposphere is the first layer of the atmosphere, the closest to the Earth surface. The height of this later is between 6 km (poles) and 17 km (equator). This part of the atmosphere is the densest, so it contains the highest mass (from the water vapor). In troposphere, temperature and pressure decrease as altitude increases.
