    The birds, animals, amphibians, fishes and other aquatic animals depends on the estuaries for breeding, live and feed.

    The animals such as oysters make estuaries their permanent home.

    Hence, marine life also depends on estuaries for their need and they are very important for the ecosystem.

Therefore, the type of water freshwater or saline water present in the estuary depends upon the drainage of water from these two sources. The estuary ecosystem is drastically affected by the changes that occur in the salinity levels. Therefore, the animals which are not tolerated to high salinity levels cannot survive.
