Lionel is planning to run a marathon tomorrow. What type of carbohydrates should he eat for dinner the night before the race? Explain your answer and give some examples.

    He needs to take Carbohydrate load for storage of glycogen in the muscles so that enough reserves will be available when the amount present is used up during the long race.

    CHO in controlled amount should be taken. 4g of CHO per body weight. Rice, oatmeal, pancakes, bread with yogurt should be taken. They are very easy to digest. The goal is to load the body with enough CHO to be converted to glycogen the following day.
