its immunity to the poisonous anemones that live on coral

    Explanation:

Clownfishes are found in marine habitats. They vary in colour from blue to orange. They are very active and defend their territory.

Coral reefs are inhabited by anemones which are generally poisonous to fishes. Clownfishes are the only fishes that do net get stung by tentacles of sea anemones because they have a slimy mucus covering. Hence they live with the anemones in a symbiotic relationship in reefs. They get leftover food from anemones and clean the anemone surface in return.
