Desalination is a process of removal of salt from the brackish water so as to make it freshwater. There are three methods used for desalination of water. First, method includes the thermal distillation involves the boiling of water, then the evaporated steam is collected, and the salt is left behind. Second, method involves the use of the electric current drive ions across a selectively permeable membrane, carrying the salt ions with it. Third, method of desalination involves reverse osmosis, in this the saline water passes through a selectively permeable membrane, and the salt molecules being larger in size cannot pass through and left behind.

On the basis of the above information the following steps are involved in the desalination process:

Salt is removed from ocean water to provide fresh water.

Water is heated until it evaporates.

    Water is considered and collected.

Water is collected and salt allowed to settle at the bottom.
