Epidermal cancers are carcinomas. Dermal cancers are sarcomas.

Explanation:

There are 3 types of cancers based on the type of tissues they affect:

1) Carcinomas : It occurs in ectodermal tissue.

2) Sarcomas : It occurs in mesodermal tissue.

3) Leukemia : It occurs in those tissues which are responsible for hematopoiesis.

Epithelial cell cancers are basically carcinomas. Our epidermis which consists epithelial cells is derived from ectodermal tissue that is why epidermal cancers are categorized under carcinomas. More than 90% cancers are carcinomas so it is most common type of cancer.

Dermal cancers are categorized under sarcomas because dermis forms deep skin tissue which has connective tissue in abundance. Connective tissue in turn is derived from mesoderm that is why dermal cancers are known as sarcomas. Sarcomas are rarest type of cancers.
