Explain why energy is wasted in a coal-fired power plant

    With no research, i think it is when they burn the coal. They have to put energy in to make the fire.

    Coal is a non-renewable source, therefore when it is fired it can no longer be used and the energy becomes potential energy and no longer kinetic.
