In osmosis explain why water moves toward a hypertonic area.

    the water moves from an area of high concentration to low concentration. the pressure that must be applied to a semi-permeable membrane to oppose or prevent osmosis ... The solute concentration is higher inside of the cell. Water concentration is greater on the outside of the cell.
