    Nucleic acids function is to make up genetic information in living things. There are two types of nucleic acid and they are DNA and RNA. DNA is the basic instructions for living things. It is passed down from parent to offspring and is found in the nucles of the cell

    Genetic information. The main job of the DNA is to carry the code for making proteins. A gene is a stretch of DNA that can be be read by proteins called ribosomes and copied into a type of nucleic acid called messenger RNA.

    The 3 main functions of nucleic acid

    1.) is to store and transfer genetic information.

    2.) the deoxyribonueic acid is the storage for place for genetic information in the cell.

    3.) DNA controls the synthesis of RNA in the cell.
