The gene for color blindness is carried on the X chromosome and is recessive. A man, whose father was colorblind, has a colorblind daughter.

a) Is this man colorblind? How do you know?

b) Where did he get his gene for color blindness?

c) Must the fathers of all colorblind girls be colorblind? Why? answer sheet

    a) Yes, as his genes passed on to his daughter so that means he got the genes from he's father

    b) From his father

    c) No, because they might have got the gene from their mothers as well not just their fathers
