A third gene pair on a separate autosome determines whether or not any color will be produced. The CC and Cc genotypes allow color according to the expression of the A and B alleles. However, the cc genotype results in albino rats regardless of the A and B alleles present. What proportion of the progeny of the following cross will be gray or albino?

    53.125%

    Explanation:

    A. AaBbCc x aaBbCc

    p (gray) + p (albino) = p (AaBbC-) + p (cc) = (1/2 x 3⁄4 x 3/4) + (1/4) = 9/32 + 1/4 = 17/32 =.53125

    = 53.125%
