Why are small aquatic organisms usually temperature conformers? see section 39.4 (page 830) ?

    Small aquatic organisms are usually temperature conformers because they have high ratio of surface are to volume and therefore they can readily lose heat. In other words they have large surface area compared to volume so they tend to lose heat readily when it is cold outside.
