Select the correct sequence of steps as energy is extracted from glucose during cellular respiration. electron transport chain - > citric acid cycle - > glycolysis - > acetyl CoA

glycolysis - > acetyl CoA - > citric acid cycle - > electron transport chain

citric acid cycle - > electron transport chain - > glycolysis - > acetyl CoA

glycolysis - > citric acid cycle - > acetyl CoA - > electron transport chain

Glycolysis - > acetyl CoA - > citric acid cycle - > electron transport chain

    Explanation:

Cellular respiration is the process by which organic food substances such as glucose are broken down in presence of oxygen to yield energy in the form of ATP which is used to drive cellular processes. Cellular respiration takes place in several phases, which includes glycolysis, conversion of pyruvate to acetyl CoA, citric acid cycle, then the electron transport chain. During glycolysis glucose is broken down to yield 2 molecules of ATP and 2 molecules of pyruvate which are then converted to acetyl CoA. Acetyl CoA then enters the citric acid cycle and then it is preceded by electron transport which produces maximum molecules of ATP.
