    DNA replication is important because without it the new cells that are produced during mitosis or meiosis would eventually die.

    As humans we need to gain the survival instincs from our ancestors. So hypothetically your parents may be more likely to be protective then mine so its essential that your parents had you with simaler genes to them for the protective techniques.
