    This experiment demonstrated the bacteria has the ability of transformation.

    Explanation: Transformation is the ability of bacteria to absorb the DNA of other types of bacteria from the external environment into the body and incorporate it in its own DNA. Then this the DNA from outside is translated, making proteins of other bacteria. In this experiment, DNA of dead virulent smooth bacteria was taken up by rough bacteria. Rough bacteria start making proteins of smooth bacteria and become virulent smooth bacteria.
