    I believe you mean spermatogonia. In males, the gonad is named the testis (plural: testes) and the germ cells form spermatogonia within this organ. Spermatogonia are the progenitor cells for all spermatozoa, and spermatogonia applies to all germ cells within the testes that have not entered meiosis.
