What would most likely happen to a person who is not getting enough essential amino acids in his or her diet? The body would synthesize the amino acids. Muscle tissue would break down to supply amino acids. Protein synthesis would increase. Protein synthesis would stop.

    The Monomers of protein are the amino acids, which are linked together by peptide bonds during translation on the ribosomes in the cytosol. Hence these amino acids are needed for protein synthesis.

    Therefore, when a diet is deficient in essential amino acids, Protein synthesis would stop, for the body to conserve the amino acids.
